It is said that Hainan Island is a “Paradise like Hawaii, though not Hawaii”, it has long been being a breakaway haven for the Chinese from the North to escape cold weather during the winter season.

Today Hainan Island is one of the important special economic zones in China, which brings an annual GDP 25.69 billion. The island holds one the country’s largest bases of natural resources, including salt and titanium. Tourism has been sprouting up around in the recent years, even Miss World Pageant was held there months ago.

On the southern tip of the island Sanya is the paradise for beach lovers, divers and rock climbers. Dadonghai for instance is a perfect place for all these activities. A small coy hostel has now opened in the vicinity, its location is “couldn’t-be-better” for hostellers interested in either exploring the town or going for water sports. Hostel manager Lucy is looking forward to meeting people from all over the world.

How to find:
From the Sanya Long Distance Bus Station: take No.2 or No.202, (Fare: RMB1), tell the bus driver you would like to get off in Dadonghai near City Hotel on Haiyun Road. Then take the right leading behind the hotel, at the first alley take the left to the end. Look for the blue logo on top of our building. In the event of getting lost: please call 13322098659. It is about 2 minutes walk to hostel from City Hotel. Taxi from the long Distance Bus Station to City Hotel will cost you about RMB10.

From Sanya Airport: take airport bus (Fare: RMB10) to South China Hotel (sometimes bus does not call at South China Hotel in Dadonghai, please check with the driver). If this is the case, you can alight at No.1 Market and then change either No.2 or No.202. Then follow the instruction above-mentioned.
