The Department of Etiology is research oriented, with strength in the areas of molecular parasitology, virology and immunology. Some of the research activities involve collaborations with investigators in USA and Europe. These research endeavors are supported by funds from National Nature Science Foundation, Military Foundation for Medicine and Hygiene as well as WHO/TDR. The Department consists of eleven full-time faculty members, including 2 full professors, 2 associate professors, offering a Master since 1997 and a Ph.D. since 2002 in Medical Sciences with a specialty in Etiology.
