Laboratory of morphology
Located on the fifth floor of the scientific research building and charged by Yun-Qing Li, PhD, Professor and Director of the Deparment of Human Anatomy.
E-mail: deptanat@fmmu.edu.cn
Main research interests:
a) The neural basis of mechanisms underlying analgesia
b) The central pathways of trigeminal proprioceptive sensory information transmission and its modulation mechanisms
c) The indirect control of the motor neurons in the brainstem by the cerebral motor cortex
d) The generation, transmission and modulatory mechanisms of the pathological pain
Domestic and foreign co-operations:
Close co-operations on the morphological basis of nociceptive information transmission and modulation and the mechanisms underlying analgesia, the central pathways for trigeminal proprioceptive sensory information and the premotor neurons in the brainstem have been established with the Department of Morphological Brain Science, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University.
Close co-operations on the development and plasticity of nervous system have been carried out with the Department of anatomy, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Main experimental facilities:
sets of cryostat slicers (Leica S2000)
sets of freezing microtome (Leica)
set of ultra-thin microtome (LKB NOVA)
sets of ultra-low temperature refrigerator (Sanyo)
sets of three-dimensional localizer of animal brains
animals feeding room, an operating room and a room for perfusion
