China Medical Technologies, Inc. is a leading China-based medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets products in China using HIFU, for the treatment of solid cancers and benign tumors. It’s HIFU therapy system treats solid tumor cancers and benign tumors using linear ultrasound waves to raise the temperature of the targeted tumor tissue. The system is used primarily to treat liver, lung, breast, prostate, and kidney cancers, along with tumors in arms and legs and superficial tissues. Its ECLIA system is a luminescence immunoassay diagnostic system used to detect thyroid disorders, diabetes, reproductive disorders, SARS, and tumor markers. China Medical Technologies offers 27 reagent kits for use with the ECLIA system. Founder and CEO Xiaodong Wu owns about 55% of the company, which operates through subsidiary YDME Beijing. It is a company in the health care industry. China Medical believes that it is a leader in the design and development of HIFU tumor therapy devices in China. In addition, China Medical believes that it is one of the first China-based companies to offer an advanced in-vitro diagnostics system, or IVD system, using enhanced chemiluminescence, or ECLIA, technology to detect and monitor various diseases and disorders through laboratory evaluation and analysis of blood, urine or other body fluids..

The Company was listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on August 10, 2005 and currently trades under the ticker "CMED". We currently conduct our operations primarily through our wholly-owned subsidiary Beijing Yuande Bio-Medical Engineering Co.Ltd. in China. Yuande was established in 1999 and its headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in the Bejing Economical and Technological Development Area. The Company was awarded ISO9001 certification in 2001.

In cooperation with researchers from Peking University, we have developed a High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) tumor therapy system through years of efforts with considerable investment. The equipment was granted the register and manufacture license by the State Food and Drug Administration in 1999. Moreover, this project has been listed as a Advanced State High-Tech Industrialization Project and has been approved by the Science Research Fund of the Ministry of Public Health. Our High Intensity Focused Ultrasound tumor therapy system has been used in over 20,000 cases so far in China, and the clinical success has helped realize the dream of non-invasive treatment of cancerous tumors. The product has many patents both in China and abroad. Having been evaluated by and demonstrated to many senior experts in a number of situations, the clinical application of this technology is believed to have reached leading global level.

On the other side of China Medical, we launched of our Enhanced Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA) analysis system and reagents in 2004. The Company's research in chemiluminescence technology has resulted in us becoming the first China-based company to successfully grasp the core technology, and the first to have a platform to develop and manufacture both equipment and reagents.
