Bluepoint Linux Software Corp. (蓝点软件) was originally established under the name of Shenzhen Sinx Software Co. Ltd. as a limited liability company in the People's Republic of China on September 3, 1999. Bluepoint Linux commenced operations in October 1999. The Company developed the first true Chinese Linux operating system called Bluepoint.
The Company is engaged in the licensing of its software Bluepoint Linux to People's Republic of China original equipment manufacturers of personal computers, and the sale of Bluepoint Linux software packages to software retailers in the People's Republic of China. The Company's business is focused on Linux operating system, embedded Linux platform, and related service and support. Bluepoint Linux supports multiple languages and is very suitable for Asian users. The Company also developed Linux operating system for embedded devices such as personal digital assistant, Set-top box, intelligent housing system and web pad. As of December 31, 2003, Bluepoint Linux Software Corp. had 31 full time employees.
Bluepoint Linux Software distributes and supports a Linux-based operating system in China, used in PCs, personal digital assistants, and other electronic devices. The company also makes network security products--Mailarmor and Bluepoint--which it sells to customers in China. The company was founded as Shenzhen Sinx Software in 1999, and later changed its name to that of its main product, Bluepoint Linux. Chairman and President Xin Liu owns 42% of the company and director Jun Liu holds 24%.
