Tsang Hinchi (曾宪梓)

Dr. the Hon. Tsang Hin Chi is the founder of the Goldlion Holdings Ltd. He was born in 1934. In 1961, he graduated from the Sun Yat-Sen University, and majored in Biology. He is the Chairman of the group at present.

Since 1994, Dr. Tsang was elected to be a member of the Standing Committee of the Nat ional People's Congress of China. Dr. Tsang actively involved in various social services and chambers of commerce in Hong Kong and China. He has been the chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) thrice and becoming the Life Honorary Chairman of CGCC now.

Dr. Tsang's father passed away when he was little, thus he brought up by his mother. He terminated his schooling due to poverty, and being a farming worker to earn a living. Dr. Tsang appreciated the Government gave him a chance to go to school again. He mentioned that this is an absolute treasure, and he shall repay to the country.

In order to devolve the spirit of “education and science enhance the country prosperousness, and yield to repay the country”. Dr. Tsang has devoted to the development of education, medical care, athletic sports, and charities in Hong Kong and China since 1980s. The establishment of Tsang Hin Chi Education Fund has assisted many students who lived in poverty since 1992. In 2003, Dr. Tsang announced to donate HK$100 million to set up Tsang Hi Chi Manned Space Foundation, in order to incentivize the Chinese spaceman and professional. In terms of contributions, Dr. Tsang has donated over HK$580 million to fund various projects in Hong Kong and China.

In 1993, the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences discovered an asteroid. The star has numbered as 3388, and named as “Tsang Hin Chi”. In the July of 1997, Dr. Tsang has awarded the highest honor of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region “the Grand Bauhinia Medal”, in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to Hong Kong and China. He also received an honorary citizen from several cities, such as Beijing , Harbin , Shenyang , Dalin, Guangzhou , etc.
